《粉妝樓》作者為羅貫中，本書為《說唐後傳》續書之一。小說敘唐代開國功臣羅成的後代羅增、羅琨、羅燦父子等受奸相沈謙無端陷害，被迫聚義雞爪山，共同將兵伐罪，誅滅沈謙奸黨，扶助大唐天子重振朝綱的故事。小說結構複雜，頭緒紛繁，以忠奸鬥爭為主線，揭露封建社會上層官僚結黨營私、迫害忠良的罪惡，歌頌了除暴安良、扶弱濟困的正義行為；同時交織羅成後代羅琨、羅燦及柏玉霜、程玉梅、祁巧雲、馬金定等青年男女之間的愛情故事。
小說情節跌宕生姿、頗能引人入勝，人物形象生動鮮明。風格樸實粗獷，語言明白曉暢。本書問世後，流傳甚廣，曾被改編為京劇連臺本戲《粉妝樓》曆演不衰。
