Phineas Taylor Barnum was called "the Greatest Showman on Earth", one of America's first millionaires, who created a business empire in entertainment and show-biz, got globally famous, helped his partners become rich, all of it during the Civil War, slavery, famine, political upheaval, and economic panics.

He was a famous speaker, a bestselling author, a politician, a showman, an investor, an entrepreneur, and a marketing genius. He was also the father of advertising.
