Roman Babies Mystery
An absolute must for anyone interested in archaeology, history or the mysteries of the past! Following the fascinating revelations by BBC 2 in their documentary "Digging for Britain", Dr Jill Eyers investigates the truth behind the 97 newborn babies found buried at the Roman villa site at Hambleden, in Buckinghamshire, England. Were they murdered at birth and if so, why? Was there likely to have been a brothel on site? What is the likelihood of the infanticide being a form a birth control? Dr Eyers reveals some of the barbaric burial practises carried out by the Romans and some of the lesser known truths about infanticide. There are some fascinating pictures of the 2000 year old baby bones, including one with sinistre cut marks. There are stunning drawings of how the site looked in Roman times. The app includes links to three videos that will take you round the site as it was in Roman times.
