Spice - A collection of South Asian American short stories
by Farha Hasan
Spice comprises of three short stories that focus on the experiences of second generation South Asians. Born in the 70s and 80s this generation come from a community that is more firmly entrenched in North American culture and as a result has moved past the usual identity issues.
In this collection the author's slice of life approach provides the reader with a glimpse of how the 'Americaness' of the characters shines through despite their cultural roots. In these stories we find a woman preparing for a house guest, another visiting an ethnic salon and a third (a college coed) that has become infatuated with a mysterious stranger.
We hope readers enjoys this collection and look forward to updates in the future.
What's new
Farha Hasan has published two new short stories - "Anyone Worth Knowing" and "The Two of Us". These have been added to the Spice collection - enjoy!
