The Secret Adversary

The Secret Adversary is a work of detective fiction by Agatha Christie and first published in the UK by The Bodley Head in January 1922 and in the US by Dodd, Mead and Company later in that same year. The book introduces the characters of Tommy and Tuppence who feature in three other Christie books and one collection of short stories written throughout her writing career.

Agatha Mary Clarissa, Lady Mallowan, DBE commonly known as Agatha Christie, was an English crime writer of novels, short stories and plays. She also wrote romances under the name Mary Westmacott, but is best remembered for her 80 detective novels and her successful West End theatre plays. Her works, particularly those featuring detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple, have given her the title the 'Queen of Crime' and made her one of the most important and innovative writers in the development of the genre.
