Enjoy the classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne published in 1870.

It tells the story of Captain Nemo and his submarine Nautilus.

The story begins in 1866, when a mysterious sea monster is sighted by ships of several nations.

The United States government assembles an expedition on a ship to track down and destroy the menace.

After much fruitless searching, the monster is found, and the ship charges into battle, being damaged.

The book protagonists are thrown overboard and discover to their surprise that the creature is a large metal construct.

They are quickly captured and brought inside the vessel, where they meet its enigmatic creator and commander, Captain Nemo.

The rest of the story follows their adventures aboard the submarine, the Nautilus, which was built in secrecy and now roams the seas free of any land-based government.
