OVERVIEW
FileViewer is a file storage, transfer, viewing, and email application for the iPhone and iPod touch. Using this application, your device can be mounted as a wireless hard drive from a Windows, Mac OS X, or even a Linux computer over a wireless network. Once mounted, files can be transferred back and forth between this device and your computer or emailed to others.

FILE VIEWING & EMAIL
All file types can be transferred to FileViewer. Built-in document and image viewers allow viewing of files directly on your device. Unprotected audio and video files can also be opened directly in FileViewer. Supported file types for direct viewing or listening on your iPhone or iPod touch include portable document format (.pdf), Microsoft Word (.doc & .docx), rich text format (.rtf), plain text files (.txt), Microsoft Excel (.xls & .xlsx), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt & .pptx), iWork '09 files (.pages, .key, & .numbers), HTML documents (.html & .htm), web archives (.webarchive), image files (.jpg, .jpeg, .tif, .tiff, .gif, .bmp, & .png), audio files (.m4a - Apple Lossless & AAC formats, .mp3, .wav, and .aif), and video files (.mp4, .m4v, .mov, and .3gp). Landscape mode as well as zooming and panning is supported for viewing documents and images. A scroll bar feature facilitates viewing of long documents (see screenshot). Individual files ≤ 10 MB can be emailed from this program as an email attachment (see screenshot).

REQUIREMENTS
FileViewer requires a wireless network (either a standard router-based wireless network or a direct computer-to-iPhone/iPod touch ad hoc wireless connection). Your iPhone or iPod touch and computer must both be connected to the wireless network.

FileViewer requires iPhone OS 3.0 and works with all computer operating systems which can mount a network drive, including Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Mac OS X (version 10.6 Snow Leopard, 10.5 Leopard & 10.4 Tiger), Linux, etc.

SECURITY
Enter an application password to protect local access to FileViewer files on your iPhone or iPod touch. In addition, you can set a file sharing username and password required for mounting your device as a network drive over a wireless network. This prevents unauthorized access to your iPhone or iPod touch by other users on a wireless network.

HELP
Help files are built into and available from within the FileViewer application (see screenshot).

What's new

Support for listening to .m4a (Apple Lossless & AAC formats), .mp3, .wav, and .aif audio files, as well as viewing of .mp4, .m4v, .mov, and .3gp video file formats. Several other issues also addressed.
