The iWriteOnLite has been certified with and requires iOS5 for installation.

The iWriteOnLite does not have MSR support. If you have not updated to iOS5, we recommend to wait for our next release of the full version of the iWriteOn before doing so.

***Do not update to iOS5 at a site which is processing credit cards***

If you have updated to iOS5, this will re-enable all iWriteOn functionality except Credit Card processing. This release will also supplement the installation of new iPods which require iOS5.

We are actively working on our next release of the full version of the iWriteOn. We will send a broadcast announcement once it becomes available.

The Write-On Handheld adds innovative handheld capabilities for tableside ordering and payment to the Restaurant Manager POS system and is designed for use by restaurant staff, not restaurant patrons.

Wait staff use simple abbreviations and other text messaging techniques to take orders right at tableside and then route them to the kitchen or bar with the touch of a single button.

The Write-On Handheld abbreviates menu items using the first letter of every word. For instance, if a menu includes Shrimp Cocktail and Filet Mignon, waiters simply type “SC” or “FM” to order these items.

If you are familiar with text message abbreviations like “LOL” (laugh out loud), you’ll be able to master the Write-on Handheld in minutes!!
