The guide provides a step-by-step approach to disaster preparedness by walking the reader through how to get informed about local emergency plans, how to identify hazards that affect their local area, and how to develop and maintain an emergency communications plan and disaster supplies kit. Other topics covered include evacuation, emergency public shelters, animals in disaster, and information specific to people with disabilities.

Are You Ready? also provides in-depth information on specific hazards including what to do before, during, and after each hazard type. NOTE: Navigation is simple. Just tap at the navigation buttons. This app is to help people to prepare for disasters. The advanced features were designed to allow you to customize your preparedness. If you don't want to read the instruction, please don't make mean-spirited comments. To hide or show the navigation buttons, just tap at the screen twice. It is clearly stated on the information page.

NOTE: We are also fixing the bug on swiping from the page title. For now, simply 1) navigate from the menu using buttons, or 2) swiping the pages from any content. Again, the bug occurs only when you are trying to turn the pages from the cover page. Simply tap twice and tap the home button to navigate from the menu. We apologize for the minor inconvenience. Nothing else will be affected.
