EngLits are detail audio/text summaries of books and plays by Shakespeare, Dickens, Austen, Hawthorne, Bronte, and other authors that can be played on an iPhone or iPod touch. Written by university professors and recorded by professional actors, EngLits tell the full story of the book or drama, including all characters and events that are important. The shortest EngLit is 21 minutes of audio and 10 pages of text (Romeo & Juliet), and the longest is over four hours of audio and 73 pages of text (Middlemarch). By formatting the summaries for iPhones and iPod touches, listeners can learn while riding on the bus, jogging, biking, lounging, and even walking the dog.
