FunBoard

       iOS iPhone

Cool Kid Software FunBoard contains 5 interactive scenes for kids aged from around 18 months onwards. Each scene focuses on a different area of child development, inspired by the UK Government's Early Years Foundation Stage program.

We've made sure it's as easy as possible for children to use, with large colorful graphics, clear sounds and a touch interface that is easier for younger children (younger children have difficulty tapping the screen, they tend to rub it instead).

FunBoard has been tested on lots of kids and although some adults seem to spend quite a lot of time playing it, we have found that the most receptive ages are between 18 months and 3 years. The educational value of the app will be higher towards the younger end of this scale.

----------------------------------------
"I like the alien because all the aliens come out and go back in again". Emma - 3yrs

"Robot one is best because it goes up and down". Robert - 3yrs 4mnths

"Ooh, it went ribbit!" Dan - 2yrs

"It laid an egg!" Sally - 4yrs
----------------------------------------

FunBoard helps children to experience/develop skills in: Decision Making, Cause & Effect, Concentration, Hand Eye Coordination, Anticipation/Patience.

The Caterpillar game especially deals with direction skills. Ask questions / say things like: "It's following your finger!", "where would you like it to go?", "You made it giggle"

The Robot game especially deals with tall and short (early maths). Ask questions / say things like: "You made it taller!" "Can you make it shorter?" "The robot's saying hello"

The Bell game especially deals with colors. Ask questions / say things like: "Do you know what color that is?" "Can you find me red?" or simply name the colors for the younger ones.

The Alien game especially deals with musical tones/listening skills. Ask questions / say things like: "Can you play me a tune?" "Who's this one?" (point at one of the aliens) "Where are they going?"

The Frog game especially deals with identifying/labelling emotions (self esteem). Ask questions / say things like: "Oh! its sad, I wonder what made it sad" "Now its feeling happy" "How do you feel?"

FunBoard can occupy children on their own, but they'll get the most out of it with you asking them questions and discussing it with them while they are playing.

We're just setting up a twitter feed and a website, join us there for further news and info. Thanks for reading!
