iCycloid

iCycloid is a math learning tool that illustrates the various curves produced by trochoid equations. These are the same curves produced by the classic Spirograph tracing toy. iCycloid can produce the following types of trochoid curves:

- Epicycloid - Circle rolling on outside of another circle, point on the rim of the rolling circle.
- Hypocycloid - Circle rolling on the inside of another circle, point on the rim of the rolling circle.
- Epitrochoid - Circle rolling on the outside of another circle, point anywhere on circle.
- Hypotrochoid - Circle rolling on the inside of another circle, point anywhere on circle.

Since the iCycloid application is intended to be a learning tool, it allows the user to control the following aspects of the curve generation:

- Rolling circle orientation (inside or outside)
- Static circle radius
- Rolling circle radius
- Distance of point from rim of circle

The application displays all of the above input parameters on the screen in gray with the draw point in yellow, which are adjusted as the input parameters are changed. During the drawing phase, the movement of the circles are shown with the curves drawn in red.
