-About This Application
This application features two recently videotaped talks of President Barack Obama. You will enjoy watching the president deliver clear-cut messages to the American people and media. The original videos are produced by the U.S. government and are public domain.
Mr. Obama's speeches are enjoyable English-learning materials for non-native speakers of the language. The audience-friendly wordings and styles of his oral presentations make it much more fun to learn spoken English.
-Featured Videos
1. First Press Conference (11 minutes 23 seconds)
A live videocast of President Obama's first press conference. He exchanges frank opinions with journalists on key issues—his economic recovery plans, his timetable for Afghanistan, and his views on the Bush administration.
2. A Weekly Address (5 minutes 50 seconds)
In this weekly address, President Obama unveils his plans to make the FDA more efficient in ensuring food safety.

Navigation Menu
Videos: the featured videos without subtitles
Videos (Captioned): the featured videos with English subtitles
Full Texts: complete transcripts of the speeches on the videos (with audio-only playback)
Translations (Japanese): Japanese translations of the full texts
Viewing
Tap either video button on the Navigation Menu. The "Videos" button is for intermediate and advanced learners (TOEIC score: 600 and higher). The "Videos (Captioned)" button is for elementary and lower-intermediate learners (TOEIC score: below 600).
Reading and Listening
Tapping the "Full Texts" button enables you to read the complete transcripts. You can go back and forth, page by page, by flicking horizontally. When a new page appears, the corresponding audio playback automatically starts.
Reading Translations
For Japanese users, the translated copy of the full texts is available.
