The "Surviving in Korea" is a series of short humorous animations for teaching elementary Korean expressions to viewers from other countries interested in Korean language and culture. The show is hosted by Mr Arari, a dynamic 'showman', who introduces each episode from his studio in Seoul in front of a 'live' audience. Each episode features a short story depicting a point of language and a point of culture /lifestyle through the experiences of three foreign visitors to Korea, Michael, Jenny and Lala.
The show introduces several points unique to Korea such as 'ondol' underfloor heating, 'supul calbi', charcoal grilled meat cooked at the table and the tense situation at the D.M.Z.[de-militarized zone at the border between North and South Korea]. These and other scenes are depicted through meticulously hand made miniature sets and props giving an authentic feeling whilst keeping a light hearted and humorous story line.
