UH Guide

UH Guide assists you in finding your way around the University of Houston (main campus) as well as staying updated with what is going on on-campus.

Features:

Map
o Search for buildings by name or tap on them to find out their name.
o Get a direct path between two locations.
o Find local restaurants and view parking lot capacity.
o Use GPS to find your location and get a path from there.
o Access the map from offline.

Weather
o Find out the current, high, and low temperature for the university.
o See a forecast for tomorrow’s weather.
o View a web cam of downtown Houston.

Twitter
o Follow the tweets of the UH president as well as other UH feeds and see what people at and around UH are saying.

The UH Guide app is extensible allowing for the future addition of new "Mini-apps" into the existing application. It was created by a four person undergraduate team, CampusGuide, as part of a course project for the course "COSC 4355 - Ubiquitous Computing" in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston.

What's new

This update fixes the crashing of the map on iOS 4.0, and other bugs.
We have also added some more features in our spare time!

* Social Media Directory: browse through the University's dozens of
different facebook and twitter pages. Thanks to youarethepride.com

* Directory: search for any student, faculty or staff member by name,
and get their email, phone number, location, etc. (searches
directory.uh.edu)

* Shuttles: view campus shuttle busses in real-time on a map. Get
estimated time of arrivals for any shuttle at any of the stops. How
much longer is it going to be???

* Parking status on the map now refreshes whenever it is selected, so
you can be assured you have the most latest information available to
get that crucial parking spot.

* Keep up with Dr. Khator's (Our president) tweets on the home page.
