Never one to keep his tongue in his cheek for long, last year’s Edinburgh Award Best Newcomer nominee Carl Donnelly returns with a show about his rising ‘fame’, how suddenly he has found himself in a strange limbo of no longer being anonymous, but being far from famous. Recently married (which always gives a comic masses of material), Carl has noticed a considerable lack of confidence in anything other than comedy…

Last year’s show, Relax Everyone, It’s Carl Donnelly, proved Carl to be one of today’s rising stars. His laid-back attitude, conversational style and silly sense of humour won him a prestigious Edinburgh Newcomer Award nomination, adding to his already growing list of awards and nominations since he started out in comedy only 5 years ago.

Carl has toured with top comics such as Russell Howard, Jim Jeffries and Rhod Gilbert and he is now a regular in all of the leading comedy clubs in the UK and Europe. Most recently Carl appeared on the BBC’s Russell Howard’s Good News, Grouchy Young Men and The Comedy Store for Comedy Central and popped up on our screens throughout Christmas on the marathon show The Noughties, also for the BBC.
