‘Hand shadows to be thrown upon the wall’ is a series of 16 novel and amusing figures formed by the hand. These designs by Henry Bursill were originally published by Griffith and Farran in 1859.

The shadow puppets have been presented in such a way that you can practice and learn the art of hand shadow puppetry.

A great skill to have up your sleeve to pick up chicks or guys with... well maybe not but you might get a laugh or two from an attractive someone when you pull out a polished version of Toby the Dog on an unsuspecting crowd somewhere. Certainly a way to keep the kids, nephews or nieces entertained for a while!

The resurgence of this art form in recent times has included a theatrical feature at an Academy Awards presentation.
