Calc-12 Basic RPN Financial Calculator

Calc-12 is a lighter version of our flagship Calc-12E that gives you all of the functions of the most popular handheld financial calculator of all time at a lower price. If you only need the fundamental financial operations, don't care about programmability and are looking for a low cost alternative to a handheld BUT you would appreciate a few improvements to the original and its clones, save a little and get Calc-12.

Calc-12 operates just like the HP 12C, it is screentap for keystroke faithful but with a number of improvements that reduce errors and make it easier to use. And because the financial algorithms were rewritten specifically for the iPhone/iPod touch by the same mathematician who originally developed them for HP, you can trust your results.

Why is Calc-12 an improvement?

* keyboard click volume is adjustable (iPhone only! The iPod doesn't have a speaker)
* backspace and one level of undo are included
* the contents of the financial registers are always displayed so you can verify your input data. A single tap will switch to show the stack, helping clarify RPN operation.
* cash flow entries can be reviewed using a cash flow diagram -- with the original you have to enter an arcane sequence of keystrokes and pay careful attention to the n-register after your review is completed. Of course with Calc-12 you can still review cash flows using the keystroke sequences if you prefer.
* there is a separate mode for bonds so that you can see the settlement and maturity dates as well as the coupon rate. Plus you can view 13 decimal places so you finally have sufficient precision for "serious" work.
* changing date entry formats from MM-DDYYYY to DD-MMYYYY and when a payment is applied (BEGIN/END) is accomplished with a tap.
* numbers are automatically formated for your region... if your iPhone or iPod is displaying numbers the way you like, Calc-12 will do the same.

What doesn't it do that you can get elsewhere?

* It never makes you wait while a calculation is "running"
* It doesn't limit computing the number of periods to integers only (sort of an odd behavior anyway)
* It is not programmable
