Officially known as the "Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Representative Qualifications Examination," the Series 6 exam is often a requirement to become a Registered Representative at an insurance company or a mutual fund. The Series 6 exam is administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
