SophistimaCalc is a programmable calculator that is fully customizable with any easy to learn BASIC-like programming language.

It allows you to create your own equations and functions. Moreover, it is not limited to constructing or executing one equation or calculation at a time. Instead, SophistimaCalc allows complex programs with many lines to be inputted, and then executed at the click of a button. You can CREATE, EDIT, SAVE and EMAIL your own creations - programs, equations and algorithms. Email them to colleagues, teachers and friends. You can even 'call' a saved program to be executed from another program.

Whether you want to calculate tips, compound interest, physics equations or even a classic Newton Raphson convergence, SophistimaCalc is your answer.

- standard operators and more: +, -, *, /, ^ (power), ! (factorial), %, log, ln, sqrt, sqr, sin, cos, tas, asin, acos, atan, sinh, cosh, tanh, rnd (random number), abs (absolute value), exp,stddev (pop std deviation), stdevs (sample std deviation), ndst (std norm cumulative distribution), ndinv (inverse std norm cumulative distribution)
- powerful commands:
(a) MEM: place variables that you name in memory eg mem myvar. This is similar to 'let' or a variable declaration
(b) TABLE: declare an array (supports both one and two dimensional arrays). Similar to 'Dim' in BASIC
(c) COND: conditional calculation - similar to 'if'
(d) REPEAT: repeat until a condition is satisfied - similar to 'while' or 'for'
(e) TEXT: display text
(f) SOLVE: solve a linear equation
(g) CLRSCRN: clears the output screen - similar to 'cls'
(h) CLRMEM: clears all existing memory variables
(i) ASK: asks for input during program execution - similar to 'input'
(j) CALL: call a saved program to be executed from the current program
(k) CT - make a comment (same as 'Rem' in BASIC)
- performs multiple calculations at the same time by having:
(i) separate input and output windows;
(ii) allowing all equations and commands to be inputted before processing
(iii) performing all calculations set out in the input window at the press of a button
(iv) showing completed calculations in the output window
(v) edit calculations in the input window - you can even use the standard iphone/ipod touch keyboard
- EDIT, SAVE, LOAD and EMAIL the contents of the input window to file to reuse programs
- create complex algorithms
- make calculations based on a correct order of precedence (eg multiplication and division first then addition and subtraction)
