Catacrok by DavidLinan is reminiscent of another game I like to play, Angry Birds, and it packs quite a punch of its own. The game play is simple but is made intriguing with the clever use of physics. Our goal is to get rid of all the blue structures by aiming and shooting a ball at it. It is not easy though, for we have to destroy them while taking care that we do not remove the red boxes.
There are 60 different levels, each of them with a unique style and challenge. We have to destroy a certain number of structures in one level in order to clear it. I like the fact that we can choose to play any level, rather than progress from one level to another.
Just in case we are not sure how to proceed, there is a tutorial to help us out. Catacrok has attractive graphics, which I think is a pre-requisite for any game to be interesting. Its real strength lies in the way it has used realistic physics, without which the game play would not be what it is.
Catacrok is perfect to pick up and play anytime. It requires a bit of thinking and skill, and is a very good deal at just $0.99. I say, go get it!
