Jiaozi Junkie is an informative and fun for all ages app that lets users participate in and learn about the process of making Chinese dumplings, called 'jiaozi' in Mandarin Chinese.
The first step is to make the jiaozi dough by combining water, flour, eggs and salt. This dough will be used to roll out the jiaozi skins. Next, the filling ingredients are chosen from a menu of meat and vegetables such as pork and cabbage, egg and leek, or beef and carrot. After the filling is prepared, the dough is rolled out in a long tube shape, and small ping-pong ball sized bits of dough are pulled off and then rolled flat. The prepared filling is then put into the skin, which is folded and creased to form the shape of the jiaozi. After boiling, the jiaozi are served on a beautiful china pattern plate, next to a traditional tray of condiments such as mashed garlic, vinegar, soy sauce and red pepper oil.
Jiaozi Junkie will give users a new appreciation of how to make China’s most famous holiday food. Warning: Jiaozi Junkie may be addictive for those who love preparing and enjoying excellent authentic Chinese cuisine.
