Sky Hog uses a unique "flight" gameplay that's entirely controlled with the tilt features of you iPhone or iPod Touch. The object of the game is to navigate through a maze of clouds to reach the end, picking up coins and fuel along the way.
Sky Hog requires subtle tilting to control movement. The more upright you hold your device, the more it accelerates. Tilting it to the left or right causes the plane to veer accordingly. The key to success is learning to get a feel for moving around - when and how much to accelerate, how to keep the plane upright, avoiding danger, etc. As you get to higher levels, it becomes more critical that you have precise control.
Gameplay Notes:
Objective: Navigate along the upward path (it will become obvious).
Navigation:
Tilt your device upright to accelerate, left and right to veer accordingly. Holding your device flat applies no acceleration.
Subtle movement is the key. Don't hold your device too upright or tilt it too far to the left or right. A little goes a long way.
Avoid the following:
Normal Clouds (white) - It's difficult (and sometimes impossible) to fly through these. It will also cause you to lose more fuel.
Storm Clouds (grey) - Touching these clouds will send you tumbling to the ground. Avoid at all costs.
Running out of gas - Pick up fuel along the way to make sure you have enough gas to reach the end.
Clearing levels: You need to land on the golden cloud to clear the level. It doesn't have to be a pretty landing, you just have to get there.
Points:
The more fuel you have in the end, the higher your score for that level.
Picking up coins along the way will increase your score
Accessing more levels: With each level you clear, the next higher level will become available to play. The game becomes significantly more difficult after level 7 and then again after level 14.
