Make sure your device is not set to vibrate.

1st generation touch users. Virtual Whatever will not record audio because a microphone cannot be used.
2nd generation touch users. Virtual Whatever will not record audio without a microphone. If you find that Virtual Whatever isn’t recording your audio it’s because you need to plug in earphones which include a microphone. These are sold separately.
