Flu Recon is designed to allow health care providers, public health officials, administrators of group settings (schools, nursing homes, etc.), and members of the general public a way to maintain daily situational awareness of flu in the United States, and to preview, consume and disseminate official information regarding the flu, its treatment, and prevention.

Here are some features of Flu Recon:

- A map of daily estimated flu activity level in all 50 states and Washington, DC based on search engine queries.
- Silent push notifications ("alerts") if the estimated flu activity level changes for a user-selectable location
- Access to audio and video podcasts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- The ability to e-mail links to CDC podcasts to your friends and colleagues.

Flu Recon stores estimated flu activity map data in-app, so it may be accessed offline.
