Note:
This app uses GPS tracking to measure speed and distance. While the run is in progress, it will continue to measure even with the app in background; for ex: if someone calls you during the workout.
Prolonged use of GPS can significantly impact battery life. Since some of the run sessions can go for 30-40 minutes, make sure you have good battery charge when you go out.
What's new
COMPLETELY NEW APP
- Re-done from scratch, to optimize for iOS 5 and latest iPhones
- New location tracking engine, sets the standard for the distance and speed precision
- New female coaching voice, along with previously offered male voice
- New voice announcements during the run to keep you motivated
- Halfway point
- Each repeat
- Warning for the end of warm-up period (to prepare for run)
- Each of the mentioned voice additions can be turned on/off, as you desire
- Brand new data architecture, to insure maximum protection against data loss
NEW SOCIAL FEATURES
- Share your running achievement to dailymile.com - you can post full workout details, how did you feel during the run, a description of the run and of course - the track where you ran
- Improved support for sharing over Twitter and Facebook
- New: share over email or SMS
Fixed issues from previous releases:
- Tracking data points during the run are saved each 10s or less which prevents data loss that some people have reported. Even if your battery runs out, whatever you have ran up to that point will be saved
- Both voices are processed to be louder than before so can be understood when played over music (which is fade-in at that point)
- Smarter display of distance units: up to 1km/1mi it will display m/yds. Over 1km/1mi, it will switch to km/mi
In general, the re-write of the app was done to make it more stable and pro-active in saving your data.
