Hello Eddy La Seine!
Have you heard the water ripple through Seine?
Do you wonder where the Seine flowing through Paris comes from?
She comes from a spring in the forest of Bourgogne, 30km northwest of Dijon, 300km from Paris.
In a small open field in the forest, follow the narrow brook to a cave where the white statue of a goddess
stands protecting the spring.
This is the source of the Seine.
From here, the Seine continues for 776km through Paris until she finally flows into the English Channel.
The white statue is the goddess of Sequanna. Temple of Sequanna was built here by the Celts in the first
century.
Sequanna is their goddess of healing, and “Seine” took its name from “Sequanna.”
More than 200 wooden statues in the human image and many physical models of injured body parts were dedicated to the Sequanna goddess in hopes of recovery and cure. Worshippers soaked in the clear holy
spring water and prayed to Sequanna for recovery.
