Total Mobility
Total Mobility (TOM) allows you to keep track of calories you expend in your daily walking and biking activities, as well as car miles you accumulate in your daily commutes. Simply wear your iPhone and walk, bike, or drive around by having TOM opened on the respective mode. Your mobility is your passport to a global game and social zone. Achieve a desired level of physical activity in imaginative and fun ways. You can compete with `virtual buddies’ generated through real-time statistics from across the globe. For example, you can race against the top user on the Eastern seaboard, or the average user in the Midwest region. Alternatively, you can enjoy real-time competition with your friends whom you can follow in a Twitter like fashion. TOM is a unique mix of health gaming and social networking.
TOM’s cutting edge Calorie calculation technology uses the iPhone's embedded accelerometer. It provides accurate Calorie estimation wherever you attach the device (waist, arm, or pocket), using the award-winning (CHI 2010) algorithm of the University of Houston’s Computational Physiology Lab. TOM’s mile estimation technology uses the iPhone’s embedded GPS.
