Baby Name Shaker is a tool designed for parents looking for inspiration when naming their new baby.

The app enables you to find possible names for your new baby, save these names to your favourites and learn the meaning and origin of the name. The application is easy to use and has over 70,000 baby names in its database, split by gender, origin and meaning.

The main screen allows you to either shake or swipe the iphone to get a randomly generated baby name. You can limit this random search to a specific gender, a specific origin or specific starting letters for the name e.g. names starting with pa would return Paul, Paula, Patricia, Patrick etc, or you can make the whole process a surprise!

Once the generated name appears you can either add the name to your favourite list or read more details about the name by navigating to the detail screen. The detail screen shows the gender, origin and meaning of the baby name.

The search screen enables you to search through the list of baby names to find one you like. You can search via full name or via beginning letters e.g. searching for em would return Emma, Emily, Emmanuel etc. It displays the gender, origin and meaning of the name and also enables you to add it to your favourites.
