Is your husband a member of the military who is getting ready to go or is already gone on a deployment? Military wives all over the country are going through the exact same thing and are searching for ways to make it easier on themselves. Whether the deployment is for three months or one year, each deployment is difficult. Through this application, designed by a military spouse, you’ll get some of the handy tools that other military spouses have found successful in coping with deployment stresses.
The app features seven different sections accessible from your personalized home page. Each time you enter the app you’ll be prompted as to what you’d like to do today:
•See my countdown – Automatically tracks how long your husband has been away and how much time is remaining until his return.
•See my corkboard – The corkboard allows you to post photos of your husband on a virtual cork board and view them along with a few of your favorite motivational quotes or zen quotes from other sections of the app.
•Know what time it is over there – This section allows you see what time it is in Iraq and Afghanistan and also lets you program a few other clocks in case your husband is in a different place. That way you can actually keep track of when he might be able to call or email you.
•Get motivated – Everyone knows it’s easy to feel a little down in the dumps when your husband is away. This section will give you a motivational message to help shift your focus from negative town to a better, happier place.
•Find my zen – Offers different quotes and thoughts to help you relax and lower your tension level.
•Be surprised today – Have a little bit of excitement in your life! Each day you check in to this section, you’ll get a surprise gift.
•Surprise your husband – As a way to keep in touch with your husband, the app allows you to upload a pic from your iphone to a virtual letter which you can then email your husband to give him a little taste of home every day.
•Hear your husband's voice - You can record your husband's voice and listen to it whenever you want.
