Wake up more gently with Sunrise Clock - the natural alarm clock for your iPhone or iPod Touch. With all the functionality of an expensive sunrise simulation alarm clock, let it gently rouse you from sleep by gradually lighting up your room and simulating the perfect sunrise.
Start the application and turn on the alarm when going to bed (leave it on-charge on your night-stand) and a gentle sunset can lull you off to sleep. In the morning, a sunrise will wake you, gradually increasing the screen to full brightness to let your body know it’s time to face the day. When the sun has risen, a gentle wake-up call of your choice sounds to complete your awakening.
During the night, your phone provides a useful yet un-intrusive clock display as well as an easy-to-activate nightlight. During the day, it can be used as an attractive desk-clock.
IMPORTANT NOTE
In order to be able to display the sunrise in the morning, at present, Sunrise Clock must keep the phone's backlight on during the night. Otherwise, it turns off and can't be turned back on. If you're a light sleeper or sensitive to light in the room where you are sleeping, this app probably isn't suitable for you at the moment.
Several improvements have been made in this version based on feedback from our customers:
- Alarm sound now plays even when ringer switch is off (this allows you to turn the ringer off at night to avoid being disturbed but still hear your alarm in the morning).
- Alarm sound is routed to external speaker (never headphones) to ensure it is always audible.
- The alarm sound now repeats either until the alarm is snoozed or switched off (less risk of sleeping through it).
- Flashing of screen during alarm has been removed (some users found this spoiled the tranquil mood).
- The alarm times are now ordered according to the locale (i.e. whether week begins on Sunday or on Monday).
- When the sunset and sunrise will start (e.g. actual time of sunrise) is more clearly indicated underneath their setting when they are enabled.
- An option to hide the clock during sunrise and sunset has been added as some users felt this spoiled the effect.
