This app allows a clinician to quickly compare their opinion against firm guidance based on the UK National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE):
It demonstrates how a tool can produce and capture instant near patient data, produce advice based on national standards, produce professional individualised safety netting advice, and even allow a clinician to contact the appropriate local health care services directly.
Child Fever is designed for use as an educational support aid by qualified healthcare professionals with respect to children presenting with fever. The guidance given is based on NICE fever in children documentation which the user should be familiar with.
The main intent of the application is to allow a comparison of an initial impression of a child with fever's state with that suggested by a strict following of the NICE guidelines.
Clinicians using this test application have a duty to rely on their clinical judgement when making decisions regarding patient management and care.
