Enteral Feed Calculator
This app calculates the volume and duration to feed an enteral-fed individual overnight
based on what he or she has consumed via tube bolus or drip and/or orally—during that day.
The calculator is typically used just prior to bedtime to help these individuals or their caretakers determine how much enteral formula will need to be ingested and how long it’ll take for that tube drip to reach the individual’s daily caloric goal.
Furthermore, each time an individual or his/her caregiver enters and calculates a new feeding plan in the Feeding Calculator, the values are saved in the app history. This history can be referenced as necessary to report back to a nutritionist and/or to evaluate progress toward a desired feeding goal.
Last but certainly not least, this app
1) greatly reduces time normally spent attempting to solve these critical dietary calculations on paper, and
2) eliminates calculation errors that could lead to potentially hazardous under- or overfeeding.

This app is a tool for enteral-fed individuals and their caregivers. It is especially helpful for those who are trying to manage nutritional calculations of a diet that combines tube and oral feedings during daytime hours with tube feeds during the night.
