Eric Marienthal is a Los Angeles-based saxophonist best known for his work in the jazz, jazz fusion, smooth jazz, and pop genres.

He has performed with artists such as Chick Corea, Elton John, Barbra Streisand, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, Aaron Neville, Johnny Mathis, Dave Grusin, Lee Ritenour, David Benoit, The Rippingtons, Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, Patti Austin, Lou Rawls, David Lee Roth, The Yellowjackets, B.B. King, Ramsey Lewis, Patti Labelle, Olivia Newton-John, and many others.

"Tricks of the Trade" for iPhone and iPad (originally released as a VHS video in 1996) is a comprehensive and up-to-date study of many of the tools used by today's top musicians, focusing on jazz improvisation.

In a highly interactive format that will make you want to grab a saxophone and play along, Eric Marienthal provides articulate and truly expert instruction. Indeed, after demonstrating his own approach to standard progressions the screen lights up with clearly illustrated changes.

Aimed at the intermediate-to-advanced level player, Eric Marienthal breaks his lesson up into clear sections devoted to:

Please note that there is a slight loss in picture resolution when using the fullscreen mode in landscape orientation on the iPad.

Resolution is improved, in fullscreen mode, when the iPad is rotated to a portrait orientation.
