밴드라기보다는 듀엣이라고 할 수 있는 ‘구남과여라이딩스텔라’는 2005년부터 공공연히 악기를 싸들고 다니기 시작했다. 두 멤버는 20년지기 파트너로써 서로의 단점을 잘 알고 있다. 이들의 음악은 그러한 파트너쉽을 바탕으로 한다기보다는 단순히 블록맞추기식 게임처럼 하나의 형태를 만들어가는 서로의 시도이다.

앨범 『우리는 깨끗하다』를 전체적으로 관통하고 있는 릴랙스하면서도 관능적인 분위기는 마음을 열고 솔직하게 말을 건네는 것 같은 가사에서 온다. 술자리의 대화에서 가사의 아이디어를 얻었다는 <뽀뽀>가 부추기는 유쾌함, ‘농부들의 파티’가 등장하는 <도시생활>은 그 ‘정직한’ 가사로 공연장에서 호응을 받아온 곡들이기도 하다. 외로움과 속 깊은 대화에 대한 갈망의 느낌이 공존하는 <언더스탠드 케어레슬리>, 가득한 사람들 속에 있으면서도 무언가 엇갈리는 그런 파티의 느낌, <한국말>까지.
이 앨범 <우리는 깨끗하다>를 틀어놓고, 당신은 춤을 출 수도 있고 술 한 잔을 기울일 수도 있다. 혹은 서로를 믿고 좀 더 깊은 대화에 빠져들 수도 있다.
