Verbier Festival
The Verbier Festival is an international music festival that takes place annually for 2 weeks in late July and early August in the mountain resort of Verbier, Switzerland. Founded by Swedish expat Martin T:son Engstroem in 1994, it has attracted international soloists such as Evgeny Kissin, Martha Argerich, Mischa Maisky, Thomas Quasthoff, Lang Lang, Julian Lloyd Webber, Lawrence Power, Hilary Hahn, Leif Ove Andsnes, Emanuel Ax, Julian Rachlin, Leonidas Kavakos, Lera Auerbach, Anoushka Shankar and Yuja Wang.
The Verbier Festival is also nurturing young musicians with its Academy and two Orchestras: Verbier Festival Orchestra and Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra.
During the 17 days of the Festival, the public can also enjoy the free activities of the Fest'Off which include jazz concerts, special walks in Verbier surroundings, for example.
