Well Tempered
Well Tempered is the ultimate tuning fork for your harpsichord, spinet, clavichord, organ, lute, cello, viola da gamba, or any early music instrument. You select desired tuning, temperament and note, and it will give you the correct pitch with a four decimal frequency precision. It will also give you the frequency for reference if you’d like. The tuner comes with four different sound shapes, so that a the tuner will be heard through a cello and a lute alike, both with comfortable sounds and sound volumes.
Since its first incarnation, Well Tempered has grown to support the following features:
- 20 different temperaments
- Changeable base-note for the temperament
- Micro-adjustments of the tuning
- Different sound-shapes to make the tuning experience better for both louder and weaker instruments
- Bigger buttons that make a better tuning experience
Features planned for the updates are:
- Many more temperaments
- Create custom temperaments
Many of the updates have been directly driven by user requests, so if you have a comment, please share it with me and it is likely to be included in future versions
Currently supported tunings:
