Aircraft Heading
Displays a photorealistic aircraft style heading indicator on your iPhone. Modeled after analog instrumentation in general aviation aircraft. The meter movement is smooth and realistic.
New version 2.10 includes
1. Compatibility with latest iOS
2. Configurable to work in background and show heading on icon badge
3. Improved graphics and animations
4. Easily switch between magnetic compass and GPS mode
Displays both the analog instrument and a digital readout.
Includes a simulation mode that allows the instrument to be demonstrated indoors without a GPS signal.
Requires an iPhone 3G or 3GS with built in GPS and a good GPS signal. This software has been tested with firmware version 3.0 on up only.
Additionally this application can use the Magnetic compass from the iPhone 3gs.
The iPhone GPS has a limited resolution of 2 degrees and will update no faster than once a second. Additionally the iPhone GPS reports values that may be a few seconds delayed.
You must be moving at a fast walking speed or better for the iPhone GPS to report a heading.
A good GPS signal can usually be achieved with a clear view of the sky.
