QFlits - No more speeding tickets !
Speed cameras , radars mobiles , flitsers , vallende sterren , Blitzer , Radarfallen , Starenkästen , radares móviles,... who doesn't know (and hate) them ?
Welcome to QFlits! This application is not your average "speed camera detector" that uses the same old outdated database of fixed speedcams, like all other speed camera apps you find here. Instead, it uses a collection of providers that continually collect information of mobile speedcams from various sources.
The idea behind it is simple : most people don't need an application to tell them where the fixed speedcams are on their daily trip to work. Instead, they need to know where the hidden mobile radars are. Lots of radio stations broadcast this information, but by the time you hear it on the radio, it might be too late...
QFlits to the rescue ! Select a 'provider' for your country or area of interest, and immediately get the latest info. No more SMS-subscriptions (that charge per SMS) needed.
So if you have a car, get QFlits! It can save you a lot of money.
Current providers include :
Belgium (Flanders)
Netherlands
Germany
YOU CAN HELP MAKE QFLITS BETTER ! You want your country or area added to QFlits ? If you know of a source or website where mobile speedcameras are reported, drop us a line at info@qflits.com and we will turn it into a QFlits-provider.
QFlits uses a powerful server-side plugin mechanism, so we can add providers at any time, as much as needed. All QFlits users will then automatically be able to use the new provider, all you need to do is refresh the list in the providers screen. So there is no update of the application required and the new providers are free of charge !
Update as of march 2009 : 8 providers added for Germany, now covering the whole country. Thanks for the customer feedback !
Update 14 march 2009 : Another provider for the Netherlands added (NL-Bnr). Thanks for the customer feedback !
Updated 16 march 2009 : As requested, provider descriptions are now all in English. Of course, the actual info from the providers is localized to the country (eg. German providers show their info in German)
As requested by our users, a cached version of the previous info is now shown when there is no connectivity. Ideal for iPod Touch users who retrieve the info at home in WiFi range, and still want to see a cached version 'on the road'.
