Ship Finder AR - Point your camera at a ship to see the ship names and details on screen.
Ship Finder AR is a superb companion app to Ship Finder and blends the data from our Ship Finder apps with the Augmented Reality capabilities of the iPhone and iPad 2 to identify ships.
The app is fun to use and is very dynamic. It will work in all areas where we have coverage. Please check our web map at http://www.shipfinder.co or ask a questions via my.pinkfroot.com to make sure we cover your area. We are adding new feeds all of the time so it's always worth checking back in regularly.

What is the difference between Ship Finder AR and Ship Finder?
Ship Finder AR is our augmented reality app that shares the data available in Ship Finder - our original iPhone App. Ship Finder (and Ship Finder HD for iPad) provide a near real time virtual radar view of vessels across the world and include a great more detail than Ship Finder AR.
Why can't I see all vessels?
Ships must be carrying AIS equipment and we must have a feed in the area.
What if my area isn't covered?
We are always on the look out for more data feeds. Check back regularly to see if we have added your area.
If I have an AIS receiver can I share my data for use with Ship Finder AR?
Yes, please follow the instructions on our website or contact support@pinkfroot.com and we can assist.
Can I use Ship Finder AR for navigational purposes?
Definitely not. Like all AIS internet feeds Ship Finder must not be used for navigational purposes under any circumstances.

What's new
Ship Finder AR is a re-brand of Ships Ahoy! and brings the app in line with the rest of the Pinkfroot Ship Finder and Plane Finder suites. The interface has been redesigned and no longer includes the second details screen. If you are an avid Ships Ahoy 1.1 user we recommend you study the new app description and screenshots before choosing to upgrade.
