Check the real time Auckland motorway traffic flow, congestion, traffic signs and traffic cameras before you drive using your Wi-Fi or Cellular connection.

Auckland Traffic 1.3 provides real time motorway traffic flow using road sensor sites covering SH1 and SH16 with traffic information signs covering SH1, SH16, SH18 and SH20.

Traffic flow, traffic cameras and traffic signs are integrated into a clean map view which can be easily scrolled and zoomed. Double tap or pinch to zoom the map.

The map details 50 motorway segments covering 169 road sensors sites with 43 traffic cameras and 30 traffic information signs using data sourced from the New Zealand Transport Agency (http://traffic.transit.govt.nz).

Each motorway section changes colour to highlight traffic flow and congestion based on the road sensors and congestion updates from the New Zealand Transport Agency:

Green = Fast / Free flowing
Yellow = Reduced Speed / Moderate
Red = Slow / Heavy
Black = Crawl / Congested

Tap one of the 43 traffic camera icons to download the current camera image. Each traffic camera icon indicates the direction the camera is looking. To see more detail pinch zoom the camera image or double tap to display and exit full screen mode.

When traffic sign information is available an orange or red icon will appear indicating the direction of travel. Tap on the icon to view the message displayed on the traffic sign.

Tap the information (i) icon in the top right for a map key and additional preferences.

There are preferences to automatically refresh camera images every 30 seconds and to disable the auto-lock idle timer when on AC power so you can watch the traffic.
