»Edition Fifty Fathoms« App will bring to your iPad a rare, fascinating collection of images produced by some of the world’s most renowned underwater photographers. The celebrated Fifty Fathoms print library consists of 12 limited edition, slipcover-bound magazines, published under the auspices of famed Swiss watch manufacturer Blancpain. In 1953 Blancpain introduced the Fifty Fathoms, the very first watch fabricated for scuba divers, and the company’s current CEO, Mark A. Hayek, is an avid diver and underwater photographer. Continuing this tradition, Edition Fifty Fathoms is equally dedicated to the fine art of watch manufacturing as to the creative art of underwater photography.

As the print version is limited to only 1000 yearly copies and most of the existing magazines have already been acquired by collectors, Editions Fifty Fathoms is offering this App, which will reveal to each issue’s unlimited audience 50 of the library’s most spectacular underwater pictures!

Features:
When the print magazine’s large (33x29cm) pages are duplicated on the iPad screen, some articles may be difficult to read. We have resolved this issue by offering two modes in the iPad version.

1. Vertically, the iPad displays the original magazine in its print layout form.
2. Horizontally, the iPad offers a newly edited version in English, German, and French, which will correlate to all 50 portfolio pictures displayed on the full format of the high resolution iPad!

Never before has the public been able to experience a gallery of the world’s most famous underwater images on a backlit, high-resolution screen.

And, while even this iPad version of Fifty Fathoms hardly matches the optical and tactile qualities of a fine art print utilizing archival papers, colors and varnishes, this digital version offers quick connections via Facebook to other collectors, the photographers and the editor.
Additionally, if you like to own a copy of the precious print collectable, you can do an online-check into the available issues and order your very own limited and numbered fine art magazine of the »Editon Fifty Fathoms« via this App.
