LevelCam

LevelCam

       iOS iPhone

LevelCam is the world's first unrestricted AHAC (Automatic Horizon Adjustment Camera).

LevelCam is very handy in situations where perfect leveling of your shots may not be practical (or possible) such as self portraits and discreet shooting. Simply point in the direction of your subject and press the shutter button. You'll get a level shot regardless of the angle the phone was being held at. LevelCam does all the work for you.

In addition to doing auto-leveling, LevelCam provides you with an enhanced Rule-Of-Thirds guide for composition. This guide can be turned on or off, and the opacity can be changed in the program's Options.

In the Options screen you can also set your horizon threshold angle. If your angle is anywhere within this threshold, LevelCam displays a green indicator in the center of the camera view. A value of zero provides no auto-leveling support, whereas a value of 50 or higher ensures that every shot is automatically adjusted regardless of angle.

After you take your picture, if you are within the automatic leveling threshold, LevelCam will automatically rotate and crop your image to retain the native aspect ratio of your iPhone image. But, to ensure that no important detail gets lost that may have been cropped off in the processed image, Level Cam will also save the original image to your camera roll for you automatically.

Version 1.2 adds the option of scaling up the cropped image to retain the original image size. This can be enabled or disabled in the options screen.

LevelCam comes with a real-time horizon indicator for leveling your shots manually, and also judging the current calibration of your camera's accelerometer. This, too, can be turned on or off to your liking directly from the camera screen.

LevelCam features four independent calibrations (one for each orientation) to ensure the best possible correction regardless of which way you are holding the camera. This calibration data is saved automatically but new calibrations (or zeroing) should be done every week or so just to keep things as level as possible.

Version 1.2 adds a sleek new camera interface screen. If you find this too distracting, however, you can disable it in the options screen.

What's new

Updated User Interface

Added option to retain original size after crop.

Added option to hide new user interface (for those who find it too invasive)

Enhanced the behavior of the accelerometer behind-the-scenes to tweak the accuracy a little more.

No bug fixes as there've still been no bugs reported to fix. :)
