BeamCalc
Use BeamCalc to calculate the geometry and photometrics of spotlight beams. Place and direct up to three light sources (chosen from the included library) to evaluate and compare lighting characteristics: elevation angle, beam and field pool width, illumination, and shadow length.
Light sources and focus targets can be positioned numerically or graphically. Work in either meters/lux or feet/footcandles.
The source library contains over 150 fixtures including ETC Source Four, Strand SL, Selecon Pacific, Altman Shakespeare, Colortran, generic PAR64 and others. Studio and location fresnels from Altman, Arri, DeSisti, Mole-Richardson and Strand. Future updates will bring additional manufacturers and fixtures, both current and out-of-production.
**** iOS 5.1 introduced an undesired behavior in the iPad version where a right/left swipe shows or hides the source list instead of doing what it should. A fix is on the way. Meanwhile, starting a drag gesture with an up or down movement before the left or right movement should keep the list from triggering. This is a problem in many apps, not just this one. ***
