VisualCompass augments camera by level indicator, inclination and Compass reading (3GS/4 only). It could be used to check Azimuth of scene (3GS/4 only), determine if wall, furniture, frames are level. Snap of view with indicator could be saved to Photo album.
Operate in both landscape and portrait:
+ put device on horizontal flat surface by EACH edge and hit Calibrate button before the first time use.
+ touch left/right hand side of screen to position horizontal green grid line parallel to device edge.
+ touch elsewhere on screen to position white flat level grid line.
+ position the grid lines over the interested/reference objects.
+ by using both grids and inclination reading, iPhone could be positioned directly in front of the object (e.g. window) and Azimuth could be measured.
+ hit camera logo to save screenshot with metadata to Photo album
** note **
- Compass/Azimuth measurements are available to iPhone 3GS/4 only
- camera is not at the center of the phone.
- readings are for estimation only and affected by usage conditions, e.g. magnetic interference, and calibration.
