Welcome to Birder - 'Garden, Park and Woodland' edition.

This is the first in a series that incorporates a Field Guide, Field Report and interactive sightings application.

Birder features beautiful original artwork (commissioned specifically for the iPhone), high quality recordings of bird calls/song, concise text descriptions and identifications guidelines, the latest commissioned range maps and a host of incredible features.

This first edition, 'Garden Park and Woodland', details 98 species found in the UK. Three other editions will be released : 'Farm, Heath & Moorland', 'River, Lake and Marshland' and 'Coast and Sea'.

As well as being a highly useful portable field guide, Birder also provides a means to create and maintain complete field trip data. Create and store your visits, saving location, county and country information, species recorded, accurate GPS location, notes and much more.

Locate birds quickly using 'Quick ID', filtering possible species by colour, size, habitat and general shape.

Sightings and field trip data can be emailed to your own account or that of friends or colleagues and locations can be viewed in google maps.

Birder also catalogues your life lists, saving full life list, county life lists and country life lists.

Birder integrates with the 'BirderLive' web site. Accounts are free, and you can have all your sightings posted in real time to the site. Whats more, you can set up 'Bird Alerts' within your BirderLive web account, and any birds that meet your given criteria (species, location, proximity) will be automatically sent to your iPhone.

By joining at www.birderlive.com you can also share information and experiences with other users in the forums.

Birder is compatible with OS3 and OS4.
