The National Council of La Raza (NCLR)—the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States—works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans. Through its network of nearly 300 affiliated community-based organizations, NCLR reaches millions of Hispanics each year in 41 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Founded in 1968, NCLR is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, tax-exempt organization headquartered in Washington, DC. NCLR serves all Hispanic subgroups in all regions of the country and has regional offices in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, and San Antonio.

NCLR’s Annual Conference and National Latino Family Expo is the largest and most important gathering of its kind in the Latino community, serving as the meeting ground for those who work on behalf of the nation’s fastest-growing population. Thousands participate each year, including community organization leaders, activists, and volunteers; elected and appointed officials; members of the corporate, philanthropic, and academic communities; senior citizens; college students; families; and youth.
This annual event provides a forum for thousands of people representing a variety of sectors to learn about ongoing and emerging issues in the Hispanic community and become familiar with issues, initiatives, programs, and other efforts making a positive impact on the lives of Latino families. The Annual Conference brings together nationally renowned speakers who have included: Eva Longoria, Hon. Hilda Solis, Henry Cisneros, Melinda Gates, Hon. Arne Duncan, Soledad O’Brien and many more.
