ThisDay tells you everything you want to know about today, or any other day: holidays, “today in history”, famous birthdays, etc.

There is no “information overload” here – rather than swamp you with everything that ever happened in history, we've edited it to just the interesting stuff. It's all researched and verified to avoid spreading urban legends.
Many of the competing “this day in history” applications have their events copied and pasted, word for word, straight from Wikipedia. Don't pay for that kind of laziness. You can get that in a web browser.
