CrashPad was created in MEDL Mobile's App Incubator. The idea was submitted by Charlie Saravia, an international traveler living in New York City.

Charlie thought the iPhone would be a great tool for connecting backpackers and other travelers with people who are willing to let overnight guests crash at their pad for a night or two.

CrashPad works to bring people together who can help each other out.

Countless people have a spare room or two with nobody there to enjoy them. Weary backpackers and tired travelers often go for days without the soothing relief of a comfy bed.

Put two and two together and what do you get? A fun and useful network that helps travelers connect with generous residents to find their next home away from home.

LOOKING TO CRASH?
CrashPad allows you to search for host pads using your GPS location or the place you’re heading.

Crashers can rate the pads they've touched down at so future crashers can know what to expect.

LOOKING TO HOST?
This app allows you to list your residence, show photos and publish any rules of your home (bed time, phone call cutoff, check out time, etc…).

Hosts can rate their guests so that other pads will know what to expect from a certain crasher.
