iStatman Basketball

If you attend basketball games for any reason, then this application is for you. It is written to be used by coaches, parents, and fans alike. At the most basic level, this application allows you to track the points scored during a game. However, the fun really starts when you want to keep track of more interesting statistics. For example, at any given moment, how many times do the various players on your team touch the ball. If you are interested in a particular player on the court, how many points and rebounds and other stats can be attributed to that player. If you are tracking numbers for an entire team, how many fouls does your team have and how many does the opposing team have? This application has it all. Features include:
- Track statistics for multiple players, teams, and games
- Track players by name and/or number
- Visual representation of game events on screen
- Various verbosity levels depending on need
o Score only
o Event locations included (if you just want to see where shots, fouls and other actions occur on the court, but you really don’t care which players were involved)
o Player involvement in event included (this is the default, and it lets you identify the players involved in the events)
o Everything included (this has everything, for example, when a basket was made, was it the result of the player stealing and shooting the ball, putting up an offensive rebound, dribbling a defender, etc.)
- Statistics tracked:
o Who were the starters in each period of the game?
o Shots (both made and missed and whether the shot was a 3 or 2 pointer, or a foul shot)
o Assists
o Rebounds (both offensive and defensive)
o Fouls
o Defensive plays (blocked shots, steals, and whether a player is beaten on a play)
o Combinations (give-n-go, ally-oop, etc.)
- View detailed statistics in application by category
o Player
o Team
o Time (a chronological view of all game events)
• Within this view events can also be removed, if needed
o Event
- Email the statistical views to a friend for them to view. email includes both readable text and spreadsheet formatted data.
